We are taking a closer look at the charity we have chosen to support for the next twelve months. Although not local it’s very close to our hearts here at Three Shires.
Farms For City Children was set up back in 1976 by Michael Morurgo and his wife Clare.
Their aim was to provide children from inner city areas with the experience of the countryside. Their three farms are based all over the Uk and the children can gain experience of farm life from the grooming of the animals to the collection of eggs from the poultry on the farms!
The children get to spend a week at the farms where they will spend the days immersed in the practical and meaningful day-to-day tasks of farming life.
The farms are a wonderful chance for the children to gain self-confidence and meet new friends.
